Biography
Dr. Matanya Horowitz is the founder and CEO of AMP, a company he built with the objective of transforming the world’s waste from a liability to an asset for society. He developed and commercialized AMP’s breakthrough AI platform, robotics systems, and next generation recycling facilities. Horowitz earned four bachelor’s degrees, in electrical engineering, computer science, applied mathematics, and economics, along with a master’s degree in electrical engineering, from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He holds a doctorate in control and dynamical systems from the California Institute of Technology, with publications and research in control theory, path planning, and computer vision. Horowitz is a named inventor on 61 granted patents and pending patent applications in the waste and recycling industry, on devices, systems, AI and more, as well as being a frequent speaker at waste industry events.
